- SARAH (30s): An American flight controller at Houston.
SCENE
[INT. NASA CONTROL ROOM / INT. SOVIET BUNKER - DUAL SCENE]
Tension fills both rooms. Radar screens track intercontinental ballistic missiles while monitors show the Saturn V rocket sitting on the launchpad.
"We built weapons capable of turning the Earth into glass in twenty minutes. Two superpowers, holding a gun to the planet's head."
(Adjusting headset as countdown reaches zero) "Yet, instead of destroying the world, we turned those same rockets toward the stars. Five... four... three..."
"We aimed for the moon to prove who was superior—and ended up realizing how small our home really is."
