ACT I: THE CRYSTAL SPHERES

[INT. GALILEO’S OBSERVATORY - FLORENCE - NIGHT]

Dust motes dance in the moonlight. Brass astrolabes, parchment maps of the geocentric cosmos, and leather-bound Aristotelian texts clutter the tables.

GALILEO adjusts a long, wooden optical tube—his telescope—pointing it toward the night sky. CLARA carefully logs calculations in a ledger nearby.

"For two thousand years, they told us the Earth was the immovable center of all creation. They encased us in perfect, unbreakable crystal spheres."

Galileo motions for Clara to look through the eyepiece. She leans in, adjusts focus, and gasps softly.

"The moons of Jupiter... they aren't orbiting us. They are orbiting it."

(Smiles faintly, staring at the dark sky) "The illusion is shattered, Clara. The heavens are not an eternal, unmoving stage built for our egos. The Earth is just a rock, dancing around the sun in an ocean of silence."

ACT II: THE ARCHITECTURE OF DOGMA

[INT. THE INQUISITION CHAMBER - ROME - DAY]

High, cold stone walls. Sunbeams cut through dark rooms, highlighting modern geometric architectural lines in the vaulted shadows. CARDINAL BELLARMINE sits at a long table, reviewing Galileo’s published manuscripts.

Galileo stands before him, calm but resolute.

"You offer the public a universe of cold geometry, Master Galilei. You strip humanity of its throne at the center of God's creation."

"I offer the truth, Your Eminence. Mathematics is the language with which God has written the universe. I do not invent these laws; I merely observe them."

(Slams a hand down on the table) "Observation without faith is dangerous! If the Earth moves, if the heavens are flawed, then what holds moral order together? You are collapsing the comfortable illusion that keeps mankind from falling into the abyss!"

ACT III: THE SHATTERED HEAVENS

[EXT. CATHEDRAL TOWER / ROOFTOP - DAWN]

The sun rises over Europe, illuminating stark, modern-looking stone structures that stretch toward the sky.

Galileo stands alone at the edge, holding a small brass compass. Clara joins him, handing him a freshly printed page containing mathematical proofs.

"They forced you to recant your words. The decrees are signed. The old world thinks it won."

(Looks down at the parchment, then out at the rising sun) "Let them sign their papers. They can burn books, but they cannot stop the planets from turning. The illusion of an ancient, static universe is dead. We have stepped off the edge of the old world."

And yet... it moves.
